In Memoriam:
Victor Serrano
November 13, 1960 - August 11, 2022

Victor K. Serrano of Austin, Texas, age 61, peacefully passed away on Thursday August 11, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 13, 1960, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Victor grew up with his parents and seven siblings in a military family that traveled around the world, eventually ending up in Austin, TX. He graduated from Crockett High School in Austin, TX in 1978. Victor was an excellent athlete who played football, baseball, and wrestled. He set several school records for his athletic abilities. Victor worked as a construction contractor and business owner for over 38 years. His workmanship was unlike anyone else. Victor took pride in building the most beautiful houses.

He dedicated several years of his life coaching baseball and softball. Victor was an amazing coach to every player he ever had. Often, he would have a former player reach out to him to thank him for shaping them into who they are today. Victor loved watching college football, and suspenseful movies. Victor also liked music and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He liked sports cars and the newest electronics. Victor most of all loved spending time with his family. He was the definition of a family man. He was always there when his family needed him, no matter what time of day or night. Victor made sure that his family knew how important they were to him. Victor will be missed beyond what words can convey, but he will live on in our hearts forever. Victor is preceded in death by his parents Victor A. Serrano, and Deixter Serrano, brother Ronald Serrano, and father-in-law Raul Rodriguez.

He is survived by the love of his life and loving wife of 43 years, Nirna Serrano, their children: Desirie and Robert Nethercut Sr., Victor Jr. and Michele, and Deanna Serrano and Duran Crouch, and by their seven grandchildren: Robert Jr. and Roger Nethercut, Michael and Nicholas Serrano, and Shelby, Kolby, and Abi Crouch. He is also survived by his siblings: Glenys Serrano, Ydsia and Bill Slagle, Larry and Robin Serrano, Ken and Leni Serrano, sister-in-law Lisa Serrano, Jeffrey and Renee Serrano, and Melissa and Mark Hernandez, mother-in-law Elsie Rodriguez, and brother-in-law Paul Rodriguez. The family would like to thank Robin Serrano, Victor's sister-in-law, for being there from the beginning and showing her outpouring of love and support. Also, we would like to thank all of Victor's family and friends who showed their care and compassion to Victor during his final days. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 6300 West William Cannon Drive Austin, TX 78749 on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
